Time
Time is the great arbiter of our lives, you can't be somewhere without being somewhen. It's the invisible dimension, the one that you can't touch or feel, or even see. And yet our perception of it is usually passive, we don't really sense time passing unless we force ourselves to. Even our way of measuring it doesn't really identify how powerful it is, or how meaningful it is in our lives. I can never experience my children's infancy again as that time has passed, but I can experience their laughter again and again. But is it the same laughter, probably not because their perception of the thing that is making them laugh has changed because time has passed and the circumstances are different.
So basically all I'm saying is don't try to recreate a situation or circumstance by trying to rearrange the physical, tangible elements because you can't recreate the same time. That time ha
gone and there's nothing that can bring it back (except a big blue police box!). It will be a new experience and as such there is no guarantee that it will be the same as the one stored in your memory.
A little thought I had on the way to work.
